Diego A. Moreno-Fernández

Diego A. Moreno, Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, University of Granada, Spain, 2000). Scientific Researcher in the Phytochemistry and Healthy Foods lab of the Food Science and Technology Department at CEBAS-CSIC – The Spanish National Research Council (2018 – present), following the CSIC staff scientist position (2008-2018) and postdoctoral associate status (‘Ramón y Cajal’ 2006 – 2008, and I3P-CSIC 2005-2006). 

Previous experience abroad as postdoctoral associate in the Ilya Raskin’s Lab at Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey (New Brunswcik, NJ, US) from 2001 to 2004, working on Botanical Therapeutics for Treating Obesity, and obtained the Ph.D. doctorate degree in 2000 in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, at the University of Granada (Spain) where I graduated as M.Sci. (1996), and B. Sci. (1994).  Current active projects of R&D and innovation on the development of new functional foods (sprouts and microgreens of Cruciferous varieties) and beverages enriched in bioactive phytochemicals to modulate the energy metabolism (inflammation, glucose and lipid metabolism).
