She is researcher in pharmacology in dental medicine, Department of Pharmacology – School of Dental medicine, University in Zagreb, Croatia. She is associate professor and her research activity is focused on the rationalization of utilization of medications in dentistry with a particular attention to antibiotics. She had investigated with her team, properties of saliva as diagnostic medium, in particular differences in smokers and nonsmokers and in relation to their oral and periodontal health. Also plant extracts and marine-derived products are new focus in her research for a use in dentistry for preventive as well as therapy purposes. Extracts that can act as antiseptic for oral mucosa, or ones with antifungal activity to prevent prosthetic stomatitis, or the ones with analgesic and soothing properties.
